Play-offs Round-Up: Watsonville
1-0 Alisal; Wildcats cap dream season
with Division I title win, Alisal
puts in quality performance --
STM Staff
Friday,
February 25, 2005 - The Watsonville
Wildcatz defeated Alisal, 1-0, to
capture the Division I CCS title in
a game played at Piedmont Hills High
School on Friday night in front of
a packed crowd of onlookers and supporters.
High
school scoring sensation Rene Aldama
scored the game-winner in the 70th
minute to clinch the title for Watsonville's
longtime head coach Roland Hedgpeth.
Alisal was definitely in the match
to the end and could have tied the
match with a bit more luck in front
of goal. Alisal coach Jesus Sanchez
praised his team's efforts after the
match.
CCS
Play-offs Round-Up: Mitty captures
Division II title, Gunn falls short,
match featured rough play -- STM Staff
Friday,
February 25, 2005 - Archbishop Mitty
defeated Gunn H.S., 2-1, on Friday
night at Piedmont Hills High School
to gain their first CCS title since
1972. The Monarchs scored both goals
off long throw-ins in the attacking

the Division II title. Mitty, the
West Catholic third place team, shocked
the field by winning the championship
despite having some bumps along the
way during the regular season.
