NEWS: A very heartfilled message to Leigh soccer parents, players,alumni and staff from Coach Daniel and his staff:

I will be stepping down as the head coach of the Leigh H.S. Boys Soccer Program as of 06.09.04. This has been an incredibly difficult decision for me as I have come to love and cherish the positive environment at Leigh High School.

I leave to pursue a Master's Degree and a full time position at a university/junior college. The LHS soccer program grew by leaps and bounds during my three-year tenure as head coach, making the playoffs two of the three years (just missing by a point one year) and finishing in the top four in the first division each year.

I leave the Leigh Soccer Program with a solid wining record, good standing in the A division, and as one of the toughest teams to play in CCS. I am proud to say that 100% of the seniors who graduated while I was a coach went on to attend college.

The program now has a larger budget, new goals, new uniforms, new sweats, parent-booster support, and a great group of up-and-coming young student athletes. In short, it is a solid time to transition.

More importantly, I turned around the profile of the program within the community at large, and taught Leigh student athletes the meaning of sportsmanship, class, character, dignity and camaraderie. My message has always been that playing the game with class and character is the most important goal of all athletics, beyond winning and losing.

I will consider myself a Leigh Longhorn for life and will look forward to watching the program grow in the years to come. I will look back on my years with the school with very fond memories.

I would like to thank Pam Zielazowski, Rick Costanzo, Larry Schembri and Roger Smith for the opportunity to learn, coach and grow at Leigh High School. I would like to thank the entire Leigh support staff for all their time and effort on behalf of the soccer program. It was a great adventure and one that I will not soon forget. I wish the Leigh soccer players, staff, and administration all the best in the coming years.

LHS SOCCER MISSION STATEMENT
First and foremost, the main purpose of the Leigh High School Soccer Program is to guide and teach young student athletes using the tool of soccer. On the pitch, our collective goal is to win the CCS Championship every season and play high-level, fast paced attacking soccer with heart, determination, ferocity, intelligence, and cunning.
